APPLICATION DEADLINE:  APRIL 1, 2009

Please understand that, in fairness to all who meet the deadline,
applications mailed after April 1, 2009, cannot be considered.

To assist you, we have prepared
A SUGGESTED TIME-LINE FOR THINGS YOU MUST DO.

NOW:   Review the CCSF application and instructions. Note that you must submit the application, your most recent transcript, and a copy of your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) to the CCSF by April 1, 2008.

NOVEMBER:  Request a PIN (personal identification number) from the Department of Education. Your PIN  will significantly reduce processing time on your FAFSA

DECEMBER:  Encourage your parents/guardians to start assembling their financial information.   Request a copy of the FAFSA from your school's Guidance or Financial Aid Office.  If you plan to complete the FAFSA on-line, visit the site and review the application.  Note that you may start your FAFSA now and save your work for completion at a later date.  Check the FAFSA website for detailed instructions.

JANUARY:  Complete all family taxes ASAP!  As soon as they are filed, complete and submit the FAFSA.

FEBRUARY:  Complete your CCSF application.  Request that your latest transcript be mailed to the CCSF.  Mail your CCSF application and a COPY of your Student Aid Report (SAR) to the CCSF as soon as possible.

MARCH:  If not previously done, (1) mail your CCSF application and copy of your Student Aid Report (SAR) to the CCSF BEFORE April 1, 2008, and (2) request that your transcript be mailed to the CCSF BEFORE April 1, 2008.

APRIL:  All application materials must have been submitted prior to April 1, 2008.  High school seniors - complete the College Decision Form and mail it to the CCSF as soon as you have chosen your school and have received a financial aid package from them.

MAY:  If not already done, complete the College Decision Form and mail it to the CCSF no later than May 3, 2008.  If you are unsure of your school selection or your finanancial aid package, insert your best estimate of the costs and your resources.  All high school seniors will be interviewed very early in May.  You must take an updated College Decision Form with you to your interview.  ("In-college" students will not be interviewed and need to file the College Decision Form only if they are changing schools.)

Note:  For your convenience, the applications have been created as "fill-in" forms that can be completed on your computer.  Alternatively, you may simply print out the form and complete it manually.

If you encounter difficulty when accessing these forms, please send an e-mail explaining your problem to ccsf@colonial.net.  We will respond promptly and send you the materials by mail or in another file format, e.g., MSWord, that works for you.
