Concord Carlisle Scholarship Fund Trustees (2006-2007)

 Kenneth D. AndersonChair of the Board of Trustees and a consulting actuary, Ken is a life-long resident of Concord and a 1964 graduate of CCHS where he played football with board member Sandy Smith. He operates his own pension consulting firm in Concord. He has served on various town committees, most recently the Council on Aging Board, of which he was chair for two years. He has extensive experience with youth sports, both as a coach and as a member of the boards for Concord-Carlisle Youth Baseball (Secretary) and Concord-Carlisle Friends of Football, Inc. (Treasurer). Ken and his wife Lynda have three children, all graduates of CCHS. Ken has established a named fund in honor of Norton Levy, a long-time math teacher at CCHS, while his mother has established a memorial fund in honor of his father, William W. Anderson.  


Dorrie Bean
- Recording Secretary of the Board of Trustees and formerly program director at Concord Family Service, Dorrie is a director of the Community Agencies Corporation, C.A.R.D. and the Friends of the Performing Arts in Concord (FOPAC). She and her husband, Cliff, are longtime residents of Concord and their four daughters were all educated in the Concord schools. Her many years of volunteer activities include service to the school system's PTGs.  

Laura Mullins Chelton - Laura served as president of the CCHS Class of 1982 and is president of Wayside Mortgage Company. She serves as co-chair of the Patriot's Day Ball Committee and as chair of the Pig 'n Pepper festival. She has also been active on a number of community events committees including the dedication of the renovated War Memorial in Concord Center and the CCHS Alumni Association. A native of Concord, she lives in Carlisle with her husband, Peter. 

Elaine DiCicco - Secretary of the Board of Trustees and Concord's 2002 Honored Citizen, Elaine retired in June 2001 after twenty-four years as the principal of Concord-Carlisle High School. Having joined the faculty at CCHS in 1967 as a foreign language teacher, her total years of service at the high school number thirty-four. During her years in education she was very active in several local, state and regional professional organizations, including the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, which accredits public and private schools in the New England states. Elaine is a lifelong resident of Concord, and in addition to serving on the Board of Trustees, she is currently a member of the Board of Registrars for the Town of Concord, the Restorative Justice Circle, and Holy Family Parish in Concord.

   


Molly Q. Eberle
- Clerk of the Board of Trustees, Molly is the former Director of Development of the Concord Free Public Library Corporation. She is a former English teacher who has served on the Education Symposium, on the board of the Thoreau School PTG, as a coach for Concord Youth Soccer, and as president of the Board of Directors at The Discovery Museums in Acton. She and her husband, Jeff, live in Concord with their three children, all of whom attended Concord public schools.

 

Barbara Fisher - Barbara has been involved in the operation and management of non-profit organizations throughout her career.  She is currently the Vice President for Ambulatory and Emergency Services at UMass Memorial Health Care, Worcester, after having worked at the Cambridge Health Alliance for ten years.  She has volunteered extensively in the Concord public schools and is an active volunteer in the Tufts University Alumni Association.  Barbara, and her husband David Broadwin, have lived in Concord since 1989.  Two of their children, Rebecca and Megan, graduated from CCHS in 2004.  Their son Mark is a CCHS freshman.

 
David Gould - David has spent his entire career helping students make the transition from secondary school to college. His career in college admissions spans 35 years including 27 as Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Brandeis University. He has recently established Gould College Planning in Concord to assist applicants and their families in the application process. His wife, Kirsten, is a drama teacher at The Fenn School, and their two daughters benefited from a wonderful education at CCHS. A cooking enthusiast, David is also active in local musical and theatrical groups.


  
 
Teri Hale - Teri formerly worked for IBM and has been an active volunteer in the Alcott, Fenn and Nashoba Brooks PTGs where her commitments included fundraising telethons, auctions, and community service projects. She is currently co-chair of Friends of CCHS Boys Soccer and also of the College Mini-Fairs at CHHS. She and her husband David have been Concord residents since 1985 and are members of First Parish in Concord. Their three children are Lucy, Tyler and Robert, who is a member of the CCHS Class of 2003.


John F. Mee
- John is an attorney practicing in Newton. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Middlesex and Central Middlesex Bar Associations. Over the years, he has served as a member of the Concord By-Law Recodification Committee, a Concord Recreational basketball coach, a parish council member at the former Our Lady's Parish, and lector and lay minister at Holy Family Parish. He is also a past president of the Holy Cross Alumni Association. He lives in Concord with his wife, Marie, an accountant with Scheid and Company and a past member of the Concord Finance Committee and of ad hoc committees of the Concord-Carlisle School Committee. Their three children, John, Christopher, and Siobhan, are all graduates of CCHS.

Lucy Miller - Lucy Miller has worked in higher education administration since graduation from Wellesley College, including more than seven years in the fields of admissions and financial aid; 19 years in development for MIT; and is currently in the Harvard Medical School Office of Resource Development.  In Concord, she is a corporator for Orchard House and was an active member and officer of the Concord Carlisle Patrons of Performing Students (CCPOPS).  Her daughter graduated from CCHS in 2004 and is a very happy member of the Class of 2008 at Bryn Mawr College. 


Joellen O'Neil - Joellen recently retired from Wayland High School where she was a guidance counselor for 16 years, a member of the Wayland High School Scholarship Committee, and served as advisor for Student Council and the Asian Cultures Club. She also worked as a college counselor at Concord Academy, guidance counselor at CCHS, and as a member of the admissions staff at both Boston University and Wellesley College. She has resided in Concord since 1986.

Albert L. Powers - Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, Al retired from the science faculty at CCHS where he taught chemistry and served as Science Dept. Chairperson. He is a recipient of the national Tandy Scholar for Excellence in Science Teaching award and was cited in 1995 by both Forbes and Time magazines as one of the nation's top 100 educators.  He has also been elected to the American Chemical Society's Aula Laudis Society in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of Chemical Education.  Al served as President of the NH Science Teachers Association and represented New England and New York as a Director of the National Science Teachers Association, Washington, DC.  Locally, Al has served as a director of the Concord Carlisle Adult and Community Education Program. He lives in Carlisle and his three daughters, Holly (Motasky), Cherie (Higgins), and Heidi (Robinson) are all CCHS alumna.

David Prifti - Dave Prifti has been an artist and teacher for over 20 years. He holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from Yale University. His work is widely exhibited and is in numerous public and private collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in NY and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. He has received a variety of grants and awards including a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a Massachusetts Cultural Council Finalist Grant. Last year is work was exhibited at the Decordova Museum in Lincoln. He is represented by Gallery NAGA in Boston, and the Rice/Polak Gallery in Provincetown.

Having taught at Concord Academy then at CCHS for the past 20 years, Dave has spent his entire professional career in Concord. He and his wife, artist/teacher Monika Andersson, and teenage twins who are currently students at CCHS reside in West Concord.

Dave is active in the Concord Restorative Justice Program and serves on the advisory board of the Concord Art Association.  He has also served on the Adult and Community Education advisory committee.

 
Paul Ressler - Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Paul is currently an independent business consultant and previously held executive positions in operations and general management at Genuity, BBN and other high technology businesses. As an active volunteer, Paul has served on Concord Town Committees, and participated in several non-profits in Concord. Through the Concord-based Jericho Road project, he provides leadership consulting to non-profit organizations in Lowell. He has lived in Concord with his wife, Pam, since 1988 and their children, Kim (CCHS '01), Nick, and Jen (CCHS '08) have all attended Concord Public Schools. In 2005, the Resslers established the Nick Ressler Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of their son, Nick, who would have graduated in 2005 from CCHS.
 
Brec Saalfield - A Concordian since 1976, Brec is a lawyer in general practice at his office in the middle of Town.  Brec and his wife, Melissa, have two boys who went all the way through the Concord and Concord-Carlisle public schools.  For 16 years, Brec was a high school teacher, coach, Head of School, and then a National Education Policy Fellow.  Specifically applying this experience, he has served two terms on the School Committee (twice Chair), as a Trustee of the Concord Infant Toddler Center, Concord Education Fund, and on Visiting Committees and Boards of two universities.

Edward H. Sonn - Retired, formerly was Vice President of Product Development for Data Terminal Systems. Ed has been active on the Carlisle scene where he currently is a member of the St. Irene Parish Finance Council, having served as chair for 10 years. He was chair of the Town Hall Building Committee and served as a member of the Gleason Library Building Committee. Ed and Maybeth moved to Carlisle in 1974. Maybeth, also retired was a librarian at Gleason Library. Their three children Paul '84, Kathryn '86, and Eugene '91 all graduated from CCHS. Ed and Maybeth initiated the fund to honor Elaine DiCicco.

Paula von Kleydorff - Prior to becoming a Carlisle resident, Paula grew up in Philadelphia, graduated from the University of Virginia, lived in London where she worked for a development agency, and spent five years in Toronto.  In Philadelphia, she also ran a non-profit agency and owned a nursery school.  Paula has two sons, one of whom is attending Columbia University and the other is a CCHS freshman.
